Epcot
Epcot is Walt Disney World’s celebration of big ideas, global culture, and the delight of discovering something new. Located in Bay Lake near Orlando, the park combines imaginative attractions with gardens, festivals, architecture, entertainment, and one of Florida’s most enjoyable walks around the world.
A Park Built on Curiosity
The name Epcot comes from Walt Disney’s Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow concept. Today’s park is organized into World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature, and World Showcase. Together, these neighborhoods explore communication, science, the natural world, imagination, and international culture.
World Celebration, Discovery, and Nature
- Spaceship Earth: The famous geodesic sphere contains a gentle journey through the story of human communication.
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind: A high-energy indoor coaster spins riders toward the action with music and Marvel-scale spectacle.
- Mission: SPACE: Choose from different levels of intensity for a simulated space mission; review motion warnings carefully.
- Test Track: This automotive attraction is known for design themes and a fast outdoor run, though refurbishment or operating changes may affect availability.
- The Land: Soarin’ Around the World sweeps over famous landscapes, while Living with the Land explores greenhouses and innovative growing methods.
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends: Family-friendly storytelling leads into views of a large aquarium environment.

World Showcase
Eleven country pavilions surround World Showcase Lagoon: Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, the United States, Japan, Morocco, France, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Each creates its own sense of place through architecture, gardens, shops, food, exhibits, and entertainment.
World Showcase rewards a slower pace. Look inside the pavilions, watch a performance, try a new dish, and notice the craftsmanship beyond the main promenade. The loop is substantial, so comfortable shoes and hydration are essential on warm Florida days.
Dining and Festivals
Food is part of the adventure at Epcot. Options range from quick bites to table-service dining inspired by cuisines from around the globe. Seasonal festivals add outdoor kitchens, gardens, art, concerts, and specialty entertainment. The International Flower & Garden Festival and International Food & Wine Festival are longtime favorites, but dates and offerings vary each year.
Location, Transportation, and Parking
Epcot is at 200 Epcot Center Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32821. Guests can arrive by Disney bus, monorail, Disney Skyliner, boat, or car depending on their starting point. Parking is available for a fee, with preferred and accessible options under current policies. The International Gateway provides a second entrance near World Showcase for guests arriving from nearby resorts, boats, walking paths, or the Skyliner.
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the nearest major airport, approximately 20 miles away. Rental cars, ride-share services, taxis, and shuttles connect the airport with the resort area.
Accessibility and Smart Planning
